About the prints

Paper and ink

Every print is made to order as a giclée with archival pigment inks that resist fading. Open edition prints are on acid-free archival matte paper. Signed limited editions are on 100% cotton rag fine art paper. Hung out of direct sun, the tones stay true for decades.

Editions and signing

Open edition prints are made to order by the print lab and are not signed. Limited editions are signed and numbered by hand on the front margin, with the edition size fixed in advance and never reprinted beyond it. Each limited edition page shows how many remain.

Sizes and borders

Sizes are in inches. Your print has a narrow white border, 1/4 in on each side, within the listed size; a frame or mat covers it neatly. A white mat with a thin black or oak frame suits the black and white work, and any framer or online framing shop can make one to size.

Shipping

Shipping is free within the US. Open edition prints are made to order and shipped unframed within 2 to 5 business days. Signed limited editions are printed, signed and numbered by hand, then shipped unframed within about 2 weeks.

Open edition prints also ship to Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia at a flat rate per order, shown at checkout, with delivery in 7 to 21 business days. The print price is the same everywhere. Import taxes are handled at checkout for the UK and Australia; Canadian buyers pay GST or HST on delivery. Signed limited editions ship within the US only.

On paper versus on screen

On paper the image looks a touch softer than on a glowing screen, as every fine art print does. The photographs are real, single-location captures; tone and light are refined in editing, as with any fine art print, and nothing is generated.

Guarantee and returns

If your print arrives damaged or flawed, send a photo and it is replaced free. If it does not feel right on your wall, send it back within 30 days for a refund of the print price; return shipping is yours.

Caring for your print

Handle the print by its edges with clean, dry hands, and keep it flat or in its tube until framing. Frame it behind glass or acrylic and hang it out of direct sun and away from damp walls.

Certificate and reference number

Each signed limited edition ships with a certificate of authenticity carrying its reference number and a QR code that opens the photograph’s own page on this site, with the facts of the moment it was made.
